Tottenham Hotspur have bolstered their attacking options by signing Egypt international Omar Marmoush from Manchester City. The 27-year-old forward moves to north London on a season-long loan deal that includes an obligation to make the transfer permanent next summer.
Marmoush arrives at Spurs following an 18-month tenure at Manchester City, where he recorded 16 goals across 62 appearances in all competitions. During his time at the Etihad, he contributed to the club’s Carabao Cup and FA Cup triumphs last season. Reflecting on his move, the forward expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “It feels amazing to be here. I’m so excited to get started with the team and I can’t wait to meet the fans.”
The Cairo-born player noted that the ambition of the Tottenham project and discussions with the head coach were key factors in his decision. “I’ve spoken with the Head Coach, I loved what he had to say and I’m sure our passion for the game will go very well together,” Marmoush added.
Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi expressed confidence in the new signing’s ability to elevate the team’s performance. “Omar is exactly the kind of player we want at this club – ambitious, hungry and determined to make a difference,” De Zerbi remarked. “He brings pace, intelligence and a real threat in front of goal, and I believe he can take our attacking play to another level.”
Marmoush’s Premier League journey began in January 2025 following a successful stint at Eintracht Frankfurt. He made an immediate impact, notably scoring a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Newcastle United in February 2025 and earning the Premier League Goal of the Season award for his effort against Bournemouth.
His career path includes early development at Wadi Degla before moving to Germany in 2017 to join Wolfsburg. After loan spells with St Pauli and Stuttgart, he found his form at Wolfsburg and later Eintracht Frankfurt, where he tallied 37 goals and 20 assists in 67 matches.
On the international stage, Marmoush has been a mainstay for Egypt since his 2021 debut. He has earned 55 caps, scoring 11 goals, and has represented the Pharaohs at three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, including the 2021 final. Additionally, he featured for his country at this summer’s World Cup. The report also notes that marmoush has also become a key figure for Egypt since making his senior international debut in 2021.
