As the UEFA Champions League season draws to a close, Europe’s most prestigious club competition has found its two finalists. This year’s final will feature a showdown between Italy’s Inter Milan and France’s Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The match is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, and will be played at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany. For viewers in Bangladesh, the game will kick off at 1:00 AM on June 1 and will be broadcast live on Sony Sports 2 and the SonyLIV streaming platform.
Inter Milan secured their spot in the final with a thrilling 7–6 extra-time victory over Barcelona in the semifinals, clinched by a last-minute goal from midfielder Davide Frattesi. On the other hand, PSG defeated Arsenal 3–1 on aggregate across the two legs. In the second leg, goals from Fabián Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi, along with a stellar performance from goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, ensured PSG’s place in the final. Bukayo Saka scored the lone goal for Arsenal, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tie around.
The final will take place at Bayern Munich’s home ground, the Allianz Arena, which has a seating capacity of around 75,000. The last time this stadium hosted a Champions League final was in 2012, when Chelsea famously beat Bayern Munich in a dramatic penalty shootout.
UEFA has already released the ticket pricing for the final. The “Fans First” category tickets are priced at BDT 8,800. Category 3, 2, and 1 tickets are available for BDT 22,600, BDT 81,500, and BDT 119,000 respectively. The most expensive VIP tickets are priced at BDT 150,000.
Inter Milan last won the Champions League title in 2010. For PSG, European glory still remains elusive. They reached the final in 2020 but were narrowly defeated by Bayern Munich. This year presents a golden opportunity for them to fulfill their long-held dream. The upcoming clash will mark only the second time in Champions League history that an Italian and a French club face off in the final—the first being in 1993, when Marseille beat AC Milan to lift the trophy.
