The agreement follows recent speculation regarding the player’s future, as Arsenal had shown interest in the winger during the final months of his contract. Real Madrid confirmed the extension on Thursday.

The 26-year-old had entered the final 12 months of his contract and attracted interest from Arsenal in recent weeks.
