Newcastle United officially appointed German coach Matthias Jaissle as their new manager on Wednesday, filling the vacancy left by the departure of Eddie Howe. The 38-year-old tactician has already joined the squad at their pre-season training camp in La Manga, Spain.
“Newcastle United are delighted to announce the appointment of Matthias Jaissle as the club’s new head coach,” the Premier League side confirmed in a formal statement. Jaissle is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most promising young coaches, arriving at Tyneside with a strong reputation built during his successful tenures at Red Bull Salzburg and Al-Ahli.
Before moving to the Premier League, Jaissle managed Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli, where he achieved significant success by leading the team to back-to-back AFC Champions League titles.
