Liverpool Secure Deal for PSG Forward Bradley Barcola in $166m Transfer

Liverpool have finalized a deal to sign French international Bradley Barcola from European champions Paris Saint-Germain for a total package reaching 123 million pounds ($166m). The 23-year-old forward is expected to sign a five-year contract, providing a significant boost to manager Andoni Iraola’s squad as the club navigates the post-Mohamed Salah era.

The financial structure of the transfer includes an initial fee of 106 million pounds ($143m), with performance-related add-ons potentially increasing the total cost by another 17 million pounds ($23m). Barcola, who had two years left on his existing PSG deal, departs the French capital after a highly successful tenure that included back-to-back Champions League titles in the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons, three Ligue 1 championships, and two French Cups.

During his time at PSG, which began following his 2023 transfer from boyhood club Olympique Lyonnais, Barcola made 152 appearances across all competitions. He leaves the club having recorded 39 goals and 37 assists. His arrival at Anfield follows a busy transfer window for Iraola, who has already added Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo on loan, French centre-back Jeremy Jacquet, and Spanish forward Victor Munoz to the roster.

Barcola joins an attacking unit that currently features Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha, and Munoz, though the team is currently managing the long-term injury absence of forward Hugo Ekitike. The Merseyside club, aiming to integrate these new signings, is scheduled to host Nottingham Forest this Saturday. The report also notes that with add-ons potentially rising to 17 million pounds ($23m), for Barcola, the BBC reported on Saturday, the 20-time English champions will pay a package worth 106 million pounds ($143m).
