The Bangladesh national football team faced a 1-0 defeat against Bangladesh Football League side Fortis FC during a closed-door friendly match. The encounter served as part of the squad’s ongoing preparations for the upcoming FIFA ASEAN Cup.
Coach Tom Saintfiet utilized the match to evaluate the 28 players currently in the preliminary squad. Despite the objective, the national team struggled to find their rhythm, ultimately conceding the decisive goal to Fortis FC’s Nigerian forward, Stephen Chukwueze. Previously, the national side had secured a victory in a separate warm-up match against City Club.
The team is scheduled to depart for Indonesia on September 19 to compete in the FIFA ASEAN Cup, which kicks off on September 24. Bangladesh has been drawn into a group alongside host nation Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
