Mohammedan Sporting Club has officially requested the release of nine of its players currently training in the national team camp for the upcoming FIFA ASEAN Cup. The club’s Director-in-Charge, Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan, formally reached out to the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) General Secretary with this demand.
This move follows Mohammedan and several other clubs unsuccessfully appealing to the BFF to delay the new Bangladesh Football League (BFL) season, which is scheduled to kick off on September 18. Despite their objections, the federation has remained firm on its start date. Meanwhile, the national team is scheduled to depart Dhaka for Indonesia on September 19 to compete in the FIFA ASEAN Cup, which begins on September 25.
