Because the match was abandoned, Bangladesh secured a spot in the semifinals by virtue of their superior standing in the current T20 rankings. Similarly, the quarterfinal between Sri Lanka and Nepal was also declared a washout, allowing Sri Lanka to advance based on their ranking position.
Bangladesh is now scheduled to face Pakistan in the semifinal match on October 1. However, the outcome remains heavily dependent on weather conditions. Should rain prevent the semifinal match from being played, Bangladesh will be eliminated, as Pakistan is currently ranked two spots higher than them in the latest T20 standings.
