Bangladesh has finalized its squad for the opening match of the two-Test series against the West Indies, with the first encounter scheduled to take place at Mirpur starting October 28. The second Test is slated for November 5 in Sylhet, with both matches forming part of the World Test Championship cycle.

Several adjustments have been made to the roster. Fast bowler Nahid Rana is sidelined due to injury, while Soumya Sarkar has been excluded. Sarkar, who was part of the squad for the recent lone Test against Afghanistan and previously toured with the team for the Australia series, was unable to secure a spot in the playing XI, leading to his omission. Pacer Khaled Ahmed has also been left out from the previous squad that faced the Afghans.

In a significant boost for the team, Taskin Ahmed returns to the lineup after being rested for the Afghanistan Test. Additionally, Litton Das makes his comeback to the Test side following his recovery from an injury that ruled him out of the tri-nation series against Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. Despite not appearing in the Afghanistan series, Towhid Hridoy has retained his position in the squad.

The full squad comprises: Najmul Hossain Shanto (captain), Tanzid Hasan, Shadman Islam, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das, Towhid Hridoy, Jaker Ali, Mehidy Hasan Miraz (vice-captain), Taijul Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Nayeem Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, Ebadot Hossain, and Shoriful Islam.
