YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul is returning to action following a one-year layoff after suffering a double jaw fracture during a sixth-round knockout loss to Anthony Joshua in Miami. The defeat led to surgical repair and caused the American to drop out of the WBA cruiserweight rankings.

Cruiserweight Showdown in Dubai

Paul’s promotional team, Most Valuable Promotions, confirmed that the 29-year-old will compete in a “professionally sanctioned 8-round cruiserweight bout” on December 24 in Dubai. His opponent will be former kickboxing world champion and current mixed martial artist Cedric Doumbe, a Cameroon-born French athlete.

Career Record and Weight Class

  • Paul launched his professional boxing career back in 2020.
  • The American has traditionally contested matches in the 200-pound (90.7kg) cruiserweight division.
  • He holds a 12-2 record across 14 bouts, which includes a 2024 win against 58-year-old Mike Tyson.
