Poor light conditions forced an early end to the third day of the Dhaka Test, resulting in play being called off an hour before the scheduled time. Bangladesh reached 79/6 in their second innings, extending their lead to 106 runs. Having resumed batting after the tea break, the Tigers managed to add 45 runs for the loss of two wickets during the final session before the umpires intervened.

The hosts faced immediate trouble after lunch, losing Litton Das in the first over of the third session to Jomel Warrican. Despite a review, Litton was dismissed lbw for four runs. Shortly after, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who struggled to stabilize the innings, was bowled by Warrican for nine runs. By the 29th over, Bangladesh was 53/6, but Jaker Ali—serving as a concussion substitute for Mominul Haque—and Nayeem Hasan managed to build a 26-run partnership. Both players remained unbeaten on 18 at the time play stopped.

In the morning session, West Indies began their day at 134/4. Tagenarine Chanderpaul secured his third career half-century, scoring 56 before edging a delivery from Shoriful Islam to the slips. Following his departure, Roston Chase and Justin Greaves put together a 51-run stand, though Bangladesh missed a chance when Mominul dropped a difficult catch off Nayeem. The partnership ended in the final over of the opening session when Nayeem trapped Greaves lbw, just four runs shy of his fifty.

West Indies maintained momentum early in the second session, hitting four boundaries in their first 14 balls. However, Mehidy halted their progress by dismissing Joshua Bishop. Nayeem then dismantled the lower order, claiming the final three wickets. He had Shamar Joseph caught behind by Litton and removed Warrican lbw within the same over. He finished by catching Jaedon Seales at mid-off, courtesy of Mehidy.

With this four-wicket haul, Nayeem reached a milestone of 50 Test wickets, bringing his current tally to 52. He now holds the record as the fastest Bangladeshi spinner to reach 50 Test wickets in terms of balls bowled. Bangladesh had earlier posted 272 runs in their first innings.
