The Bangladesh Under-19 women’s cricket team began their tri-series campaign in Pakistan with a commanding 30-run victory over the hosts in the opening T20 match held in Faisalabad. Driven by Nishita Akter Nishita’s all-round performance and disciplined leadership from captain Sadia Islam, the visiting side successfully defended their total.

Batting first, Bangladesh set a target of 117 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. The team experienced a shaky start, losing opener Maimuna Nahar for a duck, while Jannat added 6 runs off 6 balls. Captain Sadia Islam contributed 12 runs, and Bibi Ayesha chipped in with 7 runs off 18 deliveries. However, a vital partnership between Nishita and Sadia Akter stabilized the innings. Nishita scored 23 off 33 balls, while Sadia Akter provided a strong finish to become the team’s top scorer with 34 runs. Other contributions included 5 runs from Farzana Yasmin, 12 from Kumari Sraboni Rani, and 6 from Adrita Nowshin. Pakistan’s Mahnoor Javeed was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets, while Rozina Akram claimed 2.

In response, Pakistan struggled to build momentum and managed only 87 for 6 by the end of their 20 overs. Despite a decent start by the openers—scoring 21 runs in the first 3 overs—the hosts lost their rhythm after Ravail Farhan was dismissed for 17 off 12 balls. Opener Komal Khan top-scored with 29 runs off 39 balls, but received little support from the rest of the lineup. Beyond the openers, only Jofisan Ayaz managed to reach double digits, scoring 12 runs.

Nishita proved instrumental with the ball as well, taking 2 wickets for 16 runs in her 4-over spell. Farjana Yasmin, Afrin Khan, and Adrita Nowshin each chipped in with one wicket to stifle the Pakistani chase.
