Khvicha Kvaratskhelia Named Champions League Player of the Season as PSG Dominate Team

UEFA announced on Sunday that Paris St Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been named the Champions League Player of the Season. The 25-year-old Georgian international was instrumental in guiding the French club to consecutive European titles, finishing his campaign with 10 goals and six assists. In Saturday’s final, which ended 1-1 after extra time, Kvaratskhelia earned the critical second-half penalty that allowed PSG to equalize before they ultimately defeated Arsenal in a penalty shootout.

Kvaratskhelia leads a strong PSG contingent in the official team of the season, joined by teammates Ousmane Dembele, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, and Vitinha, the latter of whom earned player of the match honors in the final. Arsenal also saw three players selected for the squad: David Raya, Gabriel, and Declan Rice.

Individual honors were also awarded to Real Madrid players. Arda Guler was recognized as the Revelation of the Season, while Federico Valverde claimed the Goal of the Season award for his impressive flick and volley, which secured his hat-trick during Madrid’s last-16 victory over Manchester City.

PSG beat Arsenal on penalties to defend their European crown on Saturday after the game ended 1-1 following extra time.
