Former South African keeper-batter Mark Boucher has taken over as head coach of ILT20 side MI Emirates, replacing Robin Singh, who previously steered the franchise to its maiden league title in 2024. Boucher’s appointment strengthens his existing connection with the franchise, having managed the Mumbai Indians during the 2023 and 2024 IPL campaigns before guiding MI New York to victory in the 2024 Major League Cricket season.
The coaching change follows MI Emirates’ runner-up finish in the 2025-26 edition, where they missed out on the trophy after losing to the Desert Vipers in the final. MI Emirates finished runners up in 2025-26, going down to the Desert Vipers in the final.
