Mumbai Cricket Association Invites Bids for Ninth T20 Mumbai League Franchise

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has officially initiated the bidding process for a new franchise, marking the expansion of the men’s T20 Mumbai League into a nine-team tournament. This upcoming addition is designated to represent the Navi Mumbai region, a move intended to broaden the league’s geographical footprint and offer increased opportunities for local talent following the conclusion of a successful fourth season this past June.

In a formal statement, the MCA noted that the recent season demonstrated significant fan engagement and high-quality competitive play, reinforcing the tournament’s status as a premier domestic franchise-based T20 competition in India. Prospective bidders may collect the necessary documentation from the MCA office located at the Cricket Centre, Wankhede Stadium, Churchgate, Mumbai. The application window is open from August 10 through August 25, 2026, with office hours set between 11 am and 6 pm.
