The National Cricket League (NCL) saw standout individual performances as batters and bowlers dominated their respective matches. SM Mehrab led the way for Rajshahi, scoring 101, which marked his first-ever century in first-class cricket. Despite his efforts, Rajshahi was bowled out for 231 against Rangpur, with Mehadi claiming four wickets. In reply, Rangpur finished the first innings at 122 for three, bolstered by unbeaten knocks from Anik Sarkar (59) and Iqbal Hossain (45).
In another fixture, Nurul Hasan Sohan (104) and Mohammad Mithun (119) both struck centuries to push Khulna to a total of 288. This performance left Mymensingh struggling to avoid a follow-on, as they were skittled for just 108 in their first innings. Yasir Arafat proved lethal for Mymensingh, claiming a brilliant six-wicket haul. Mymensingh remains in trouble in their second innings, trailing with two wickets down for 57 runs.
Sylhet’s left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed displayed clinical form against Chattogram, recording his 13th career five-wicket haul with figures of 5/72. Chattogram managed 210 in their first innings, led by Mahmudul Hasan Joy’s 82. With a narrow lead from the first innings, Sylhet reached 89/2 in their second effort, holding a 97-run advantage. Zakir exited for 35, while Saikat Ali remains unbeaten on 36.
Meanwhile, the match between Barishal and Dhaka Division has yet to commence at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium. Although there has been no rain over the past two days, the outfield remains unfit for play, though officials are hopeful for a start later this afternoon.
