Nigar Sultana Jyoti will continue to lead the Bangladesh women’s cricket team in the upcoming ODI series against Australia, putting an end to speculation regarding her future in the role following her resignation as T20 captain. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has finalized the squad for this historic first bilateral tour of Australia, which includes several strategic changes to the roster.

The squad features the introduction of Disha Biswas, a 22-year-old pace-bowling all-rounder from Magura. Having previously played for the Bangladesh Emerging and Under-19 teams, Biswas earned her spot after delivering a standout performance during the recent Emerging series in South Africa. Additionally, right-arm pacer Habiba Islam Pinky makes a return to the national setup after 28 months, having previously played a single T20 match for the country in May 2024.

Batting depth has been bolstered by the return of Murshida Khatun, who is back in the national side after a 20-month absence. She last appeared in an ODI for Bangladesh in January 2025 and secured her recall following strong performances in the Emerging series against South Africa. Farzana Haque Pinky also makes a return after a significant break, while players including Juairiya Ferdous Joyita and Fariha Islam Trishna have been omitted from the squad that participated in the most recent Asia Cup.

The Bangladesh team is scheduled to depart for Australia on October 3 to prepare for the matches. The three-match series is set to take place in Brisbane, with the games scheduled for October 9, 11, and 14. The official touring squad is: Nigar Sultana Jyoti (captain), Nahida Akter (vice-captain), Swarna Akter, Marufa Akter, Rabeya Khan, Ritu Moni, Sobhana Mostary, Sharmin Sultana, Sharmin Akter Supta, Sanjida Akter Meghla, Sultana Khatun, Dilara Akter, Farzana Haque, Disha Biswas, Murshida Khatun, and Habiba Islam Pinky.
