The City Club Academy Cup T20 Tournament 2026 is scheduled to launch on November 4, featuring under-18 cricketers from various cricket academies across Bangladesh. A total of 20 teams will participate in this year’s edition, divided into four distinct groups. All 48 matches of the competition are set to take place at the City Club Ground.
Addressing the significance of the competition, Ahsan Al Karim, member of the City Club Cricket Committee and convener of the tournament committee, stated that the event is organised annually with a focus on grooming players. He emphasized that the primary goal is to unearth age-group talent, noting that playing match situations helps young cricketers build maturity on the field.
Karim further explained that while age-level players regularly participate in training sessions, true maturity comes from competing in real matches. To achieve this objective, the tournament has drawn participating academies from outside Dhaka, including teams from Gaibandha, Chandpur, Cumilla, and Chattogram, raising expectations for a highly competitive series.
