FIFA Reveals 2027 Women’s World Cup Venues

FIFA on Wednesday (7 may) announced the eight venues that will host matches during the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil, with Rio de Janeiro’s iconic Maracanã Stadium among them.

The other host cities include Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, and São Paulo. This will mark the first time the Women’s World Cup is held in South America.

All selected stadiums previously hosted matches during the 2014 Men’s World Cup, also held in Brazil. Just as in 2014—when Germany defeated Argentina in extra time—the final of the 2027 Women’s World Cup will be held at the Maracanã Stadium.

“From samba to frevo, from stunning beaches to cosmopolitan cities, the world will experience the energy, colour and warmth that only Brazil can offer,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström added, “The women’s game continues to grow at an extraordinary pace, and bringing the tournament to Brazil will inspire a new generation across the continent and beyond.”

The eight cities were selected from a shortlist of 12. Belem, Cuiabá, Manaus, and Natal were not included in the final lineup.
