When, Where: Europa Final Announced

After a dominant 3-0 win in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League semifinal, Manchester United sealed their place in the final with another convincing 4-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao at Old Trafford. With a 7-1 aggregate win, Ruben Amorim’s side advanced to the final in style.

In the other semifinal, Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur defeated Norwegian club Bodø/Glimt 2-0 away from home on Thursday night. Having won the first leg 3-1, Spurs progressed with a comfortable 5-1 aggregate win.

In the second leg at Old Trafford, United trailed 1-0 at halftime. However, they equalised in the 72nd minute through Mason Mount. The floodgates opened afterwards—Casemiro scored in the 80th minute, Rasmus Højlund added another in the 85th, and Mount secured a brace with a stoppage-time goal.

Meanwhile, the Tottenham match was goalless at halftime, but Spurs broke through with two quick goals in the second half. Dominic Solanke opened the scoring in the 63rd minute, followed by Pedro Porro in the 68th.

In the UEFA Champions League, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain have reached the final, which will take place on May 31 in Munich. The Europa League final between Manchester United and Tottenham is scheduled for the following day at San Mamés, the home stadium of Athletic Bilbao. The winner of the Europa League will qualify for next season’s Champions League. With both finalists from the Premier League, England will have six teams in next season’s Champions League.
